SHOW NOTES
Some stories show that you’re never too young to start making the world a better place. Robin came across a story that was released a couple of months ago, about a teenage girl named Haley Ford. In 2012, at the young age of 6, Haley started growing food that she could then give out to the homeless. In the following years, she even started building cabins where they could stay or spend the night. Such a wonderful story and such an inspiration. Amazing work, Haley!

Some really good news for tonight. Over the past week or so, Robin has been insisting that we need to stay positive and tonight, she’s being backed up by expert opinion. In a recent interview with the LA Times, the Nobel laureate Michael Levitt has revealed that he believes we’re going to be fine. The bad numbers will start to drop and as long as we’re willing to do our part, stay isolated and keep each other safe, we’re going to pull through this together.
Please share tonight’s episode and help us get the word out! Thank you!

According to a recent CNN article, even though the Coronavirus has been rough on humanity, our planet might be an unlikely beneficiary. It’s probably too early to tell exactly how much Earth will be able to heal during this period of reduced carbon emissions but it’s a nice thought. It’s a great way to shift the focus from all the negative. So tonight, Robin hopes to drag you away from the sad, worrying and lonely thoughts, even if it’s just for a little bit.

Exciting news from Kenya suggest that we have finally figured out a solution that reinvents how we approach the question of drinkable water. A non-profit company called GivePower created a world’s first solar-powered desalination plant. Robin was really impressed by this system that is proving to be a gamechanger for a very serious issue.

that what they now have they once longed for.” - Jean Valentine
If you’re a poetry fan like Robin, wait until you hear about this one! Tonight, Robin shares an inspiring idea coming from the UK. A Poetry Pharmacy recently opened up in Bishop’s Castle with a goal of providing people with alternative therapy for emotional ailments. Imagine all the people who are feeling sad or lonely going in and getting a prescribed dose of words that can heal or just brighten their day. It’s just such an amazing idea. For Robin, this lovely quote from Jean Valentine often does majestic work. What are some of the poetry lines that do the trick for you?

Tonight’s story comes from Ottawa, Canada where the residents of the Stirling Park Retirement Community went out for a day of some fun on ice. Paired up in tandem sleighs, they were able to take a spin on the World’s Largest Skating Rink. This story moved Robin deeply and tonight she will share her thoughts on why we need a whole lot more of gestures such as this one.
