Episode 119: For A Quick Minute, I Was Worried

SHOW NOTES

Thank you for tuning into yet another episode of the Goodnight Robin. We’ve already gotten over our 100 episode mark and looking forward to our next big milestone. This podcast is very dear to Robin, and tonight’s story is a testament to that. Recently, Dolly Parton announced that she will kick off a 10-book video series called Goodnight with Dolly, in an attempt to provide people with some comfort during these challenging times. And for a moment, Robin felt a little worried. Tune in to find out how she let that feeling go.

Episode 116: You Will Be Found

SHOW NOTES

In one of our previous episodes, Robin spoke about Gen Z loneliness and how there are lots of young people all over the world who are having a really tough time with loneliness. For tonight’s episode, Robin brings a song called You Will Be Found, from the award-winning Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen. But the majestic thing about this version is that it’s performed by the Welsh choir group Only Boys Aloud. This group is also a part of The Aloud Charity that aims to promote self-belief, confidence, encourage aspiration, build skills and among teenage boys across all over Wales. Make sure you check it out and then tune in to hear Robin’s impression.

Episode 69: Some Good Things Getting Better

If you had to guess, do you think life on Earth got better or worse in recent years? A peculiar question sure and it may be incredibly difficult to find a precise answer for it, but it’s not about that. It’s about your subjective feeling, the one you get when you start to think about it. We tend to sway towards the negative side and in a TED talk from 2014, Hans and Ola Rosling demonstrate in a very entertaining way how we’re actually primed for bad news. So in this episode, Robin ponders what that means for our everyday life and what can we do to save ourselves from devastating ignorance - aka, what we don’t know about what we don’t know!

Episode 65: Dad Taught Me

SHOW NOTES

“I love knowing that even when I am on the road & away from my loved ones, I can come here to get a warm good night message.” - Fan Review

We are all selling something. In tonight’s episode, Robin reminisces about the numerous lessons in advertising she got from her dad when she was just a little girl. It may not be an ideal pass time for a young girl, but it taught her to think about subtext and what’s actually being sold from the culture at large. And what is Goodnight Robin selling? If you look beyond the ads that help us keep the show going, it’s an idea about what we can do about loneliness. More on that, also in tonight’s episode.
